Area Information : Castle Duivenvoorde (2.65 km) - Castle Duivenvoorde is in the middle of Voorschoten an Leidschendam. A long row of trees takes you from the Veurseweg to beautiful fields and a wonderful park. The castle was build in the middle ages and the current style is representative of the 17th and 18th century. After a major restoration, Castle Duivenvoorde opened its doors for the public in 1965. Every room in the castle has its own character. A tour through the castle takes you to the glorious past of the people who lived in the castle ages ago.
Opening hours: There is a tour, twice a day, at 14:00 and 15:30 from 1 May to 1 October, Tuesday to Saturday.
De Horsten (11 km) - De Horsten country estate in Wassenaar is a royal estate. It is a property of Princess Juliana and she inherited it from her mother Princess Wilhelmina. De Horsten offers a large and beautiful green area of 415 hectares and is one of the largest estate complexes in the South of Holland. Ideal for a nice, long walk.
