Hotel Information : The main house, known as Rising Lodge, can be dated back to 1588 as the residence and meeting place for persons of note. It is reputed to be on the site of the King''s hunting lodge and it grew with increasing success into a large working farm. In the 1970s and 80s it fell into disrepair and was purchased by the present owners and converted into a hotel.
