Area Information : Recorded as a Saxon hamlet in 969 and also mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086, Woburn is a delightful country village with a mix of architecture ranging from Elizabethan to Victorian. The village also has excellent art and antique galleries.
Woburn is also home to the famous Oyster Festival, which is held on the first weekend of September every year.
Woburn Abbey and its adjoining animal safari park offer the whole family an interesting and entertaining day in a beautiful setting. For the golfer, Woburn Golf and Country Club, home of the Dunhill Masters tournament, has 2 of the finest courses in the country.
The village is also very centrally placed for those wishing to explore the stunning natural beauty of the Cotswolds. Woburn is also midway between the famous and historic university cities of Oxford and Cambridge.
Silverstone motor racing circuit, home of the British F1 Grand Prix, is also within easy reach. The circuit is less than 30 miles (50 km) from the hotel.
