By car:
From the A1 (northbound):
- Head north on the A1.
- After you pass Wittering, you will notice Burghley Park Golf Club on your right.
- Look for a left turn (Racecourse Road).
- Take this, which will bring you onto the A43 (Stamford Road) in Easton on the Hill.
- Turn left, and The Oak Inn is approximately 800 metres on your right.
From the A1 (southbound):
- Exit via the A16, following signs for Wothorpe and Stamford.
- At the end of the exit, turn right at the A16, proceeding to the A43 (Stamford Road).
- The Oak Inn is on the right, just after you have passed through the main Easton on the Hill village.
By rail:
From Stamford Railway Station (4 km / 2.5 miles):

Area Information : Burghley House (7 km / 4.3 miles) - perhaps the largest and grandest house of the Elizabethan age with 18 state rooms (many of which were decorated by Antonio Verrio in the 17th century). It houses one of the most important private collections of 17th century Italian paintings and the earliest inventoried collection of Japanese ceramics in the West.
