Area Information : Selby Abbey (1.5 km / 1 mile) - the 1st monastery to be founded in the North after the Norman Conquest and one of the few in England to have survived as a parish church. It is reputed to be the birthplace in September 1068 of King Henry I of England.
Selby Town Hall (1.6 km / 1 mile) - regarded as being one of the best live venues in the area (as officially recognised by winning the Yorkshire Evening Post''s Nightlife Award), with regular performances of music, dance, drama and comedy.
Selby Golf Club (3.5 km / 2 miles) - an 18 hole par 71 ''links-style'' course, built on sandy soil and located just off the nearby A19.
