By Car
From the West:
- Cross the Severn Bridge on the M4 and take exit 24 (A449).
- Travel for 12 miles north on the A449 and take the A40 exit signed to Abergavenny.
- Follow the dual carriageway (A40) for 9 miles to the edge of Abergavenny.
- Follow the A40 through the centre of Abergavenny, following signs for Brecon.
From the North:
- Take the M6 – M5.
- Get off the M5 at junction 8 (M50).
- At the end of the M50, take the A40.
- Turn off the A40 Abergavenny.

As the hotel overlooks the River Usk, guests can enjoy fishing; the hotel has been looking after anglers since opening in 1948. There are a wide variety of activities available both within the hotel and its grounds: enjoy a round of golf, walking on the Black Mountains, cycling, riding, caving, canoeing, ballooning, gorge walking and even shopping. Hotel Information : Set within 33 acres of grounds and boasting 23 individually decorated en suite rooms and 1.5 miles of fishing, Gliffaes is one of Wales''s best kept secrets. Hidden off the beaten track in between the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains, the house is hidden among old trees and spacious lawns and boasts a commanding view of the River Usk.
Built in 1888, the same family has run the house as a hotel and fly-fishing lodge since 1948.
