Area Information : Situated in South Wales, the lighthouse is within easy reach of a number of attractions, including Tredegar House; Castell Coch (''the red castle''); the Roman city of Caerleon; the castles of Caldicot, Chepstow, Raglan, Cardiff and Caerphilly; and Tintern Abbey.
The natural beauty of the Usk Valley, the Brecon Beacons and the Mumbles are also within easy driving distance.

Hotel Information : The West Usk Lighthouse was decommissioned in 1921 and was sold as a country retreat with over 50 acres of land. It was left derelict for a number of years afterwards until its conversion to a home in 1989. Today it offers comfortable accommodation and a room that has been made over by the TV programme "The Hotel Inspector".
The lighthouse also offers an authentic Mongolian yurt and holiday mobile home suitable for those who would like to do some fishing or bird watching or just would like to experience peace or something quite different whilst visiting Wales. On request and at an additional cost, a Rolls Royce can take you to a local restaurant, sipping champagne if you want!
