By Car (from Newtown):
Kerry lies on the A489, the main road to Newtown.
- Take the A489 and just before you enter Kerry, take the right turning, signposted The Forest into Gilfach Lane.
- Follow this narrow winding lane for approximately 0.75 of a mile (1.2 km), ignoring the satellite navigation system, if you have one.
- You will pass a left fork and later a right fork after the bungalow; do not take either, stay on the lane.
- The entrance to The Forest Country Guest House has black metal gates and is on the left-hand side, just past the brook.
By Train:
The nearest main line railway station is in Newtown, 3 miles (5 km) away. Newtown train station offers direct links to several major cities, such as Shrewsbury, Birmingham and London.
By Air:
The nearest airport is Manchester Airport, which is one hour and 30 minutes’ drive from the guest house. | | | |

Area Information : Kerry is a small village in the Welsh Marches in Mid Wales. The area is breathtakingly beautiful, with wonderful valleys and hills to explore. There is plenty to see and do, including walking, cycling, horse riding and sightseeing. The area is also a popular spot for outdoor activities and adventure sports, including ballooning, paragliding, quad trekking, paintballing, carting and biking. The region’s magnificent scenery, challenging rock formations and mountainous terrain also make it great for abseiling, canoeing, caving and rock climbing. You could also enjoy clay pigeon and pheasant shooting or take advantage of some of the area’s magnificent golf courses. Mid Wales is a vast region, which offers a classic variety of golfing tests, suitable for players of all levels and you can also enjoy some superb scenery at the same time. Mid Wales also offers some great fishing, including fly-fishing, game angling, lake fishing and reservoir fishing. You could also hire a boat at the spectacular Lake Vyrnwy and fish for trout.
