Area Information : Along with Paignton and Babbacombe, Torquay is one of the 3 towns that form the English Riviera. There is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, including plenty of activities for all ages, from relaxing on the beach, to water sports, and from fishing to a night at the theatre. There are also many local attractions and sights to see.
With a wonderful climate that belongs somewhere much further south, Torbay has 22 miles (35 km) of coastline, cliffs and beaches, featuring some of the best walks in England. The varied and spectacular coastline is part of the South West Coast Path, which runs for 630 miles (1015 km), from South Haven to Minehead.
The English Riviera is not only a place to relax and soak up the atmosphere, but also somewhere to take part in many exciting activities such as jet skiing, diving, fishing and all sorts of sporting activities. The nightlife is superb, whether you are looking for a romantic evening meal or a night out on the town. Torbay has something to suit all tastes and ages. With many beaches to choose from, and 2,000 acres of award-winning public parks and gardens to explore, the English Riviera really is one of the most beautiful holiday destinations around.
