Hotel Information : In the past, Karlova Street was an important part of the Royal Road. The U Zlatého Stromu building has Gothic foundations which date back to the 14th century. Most of the residents of the rooms of the Hotel U Zlatého Stromu were goldsmiths, and so it''s likely that a goldsmith''s workshop was also located here. Across the street are the monumental Baroque grounds of the former Jesuit College with its legendary astronomical observatory tower, which is presently the seat of the National Library.
