Area Information : Città della PieveIn the area where three wonderful regions meet overlooks Valdichiana and Lake Trasimeno.
It is rich in buildings, churches, history, and masterpieces by the painter Perugino, who at the end of his career painted some works making up his artistic testament right here in his hometown.
Città della Pieve is known for Perugino’s works but it has recently gained wide renown as the setting of the famous Italian TV series Carabinieri, now in its 6th season.
The small town in Umbria is thus enjoying the well-deserved popularity that its most celebrated son, Perugino, can no longer grant at the beginning of the 21st century, with his Madonnas and Saints painted in an airy style and resembling those of Piero della Francesca.
