Symonds Yat Rock World famous for its natural river scenery and magnificent viewpoint is Symonds Yat Rock, a heavily wooded limestone outcrop some 500 feet above sea level. Here the River Wye twists and winds its way into a large horseshoe bend, five miles long, in a deeply wooded gorge.
A great beauty spot and popular all year round, Symonds Yat is especially attractive in the spring and autumn when the tints of the foliage are at their best, or in the winter when the trees are capped in snow and the surface of the river is frozen.

Goodrich Castle is the most complete medieval castle in Britain, despite its turbulent history. Built on a rocky outcrop with exhilarating views over the Wye Valley, it gives a fascinating insight into fortress life seven centuries ago.
Hereford Cathedral. Standing on the peaceful banks of the beautiful River Wye, Hereford Cathedral occupies a site on which cathedral buildings have stood since Saxon times. The Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Exhibition is in the Cathedral.
