Gothic Charme
Paseo de Colon
The Gothic Quarter is one of the oldest and most interesting areas in Barcelona. First of all because of Las Ramblas, the very famous 2-kilometer long boulevard that runs from Plaça de Catalunya, the very heart of Barcelona, to Barcelona´s port, showing what is perhaps the essence of Barcelona. Furthermore, the Gothic Quarter is known for its many ruins of old fortifications, which still remain from the time the Romans ruled. In the streets Carrer de Ferran and Carrer Jaume I as well as in all the narrow streets in the upper part ,you can find all kinds of interesting and trendy shops, lot of nice restaurants and bars, which are worth a visit. Places of interest:Plaça del Rei, Plaça Reial and, of course, the Cathedral, Bouqueria Market.
