If you are looking for a small hotel in the Alentejo region which is bursting with character and surrounded by beautiful countryside, then the Pousada de Marvão Hotel is ideal. The Pousada Santa Maria is decorated in a simple unassuming style, giving it a calm and almost homely feel. In short, the perfect base for discovering the Alentejo and a welcoming place to return to after a long day's exploring. In 1967 the hotel's terrace was closed in making room for the restaurant, which offers a panoramic view over the valley, just the place to get acquainted with the local Alentejo cuisine. After a few plates of the local goat kid stew, however, it would be a good idea to go on a good walk to make room for dinner! There is also a cosy little bar with a fireplace where you can enjoy a after diner drink on winter evenings. |
